UPDATE 1-Small investor group seeks seat on Telecom Italia's revamped board

ASATI, an association of small investors in Italian phone group Telecom Italia (TIM), said on Monday it is filing a list of candidates for the board of directors, which is up for renewal at next month's annual general meeting. ASATI is seeking to appoint a director representing 8,000 small TIM shareholders collectively holding a combined stake of about 1% in the company, said Franco Lombardi, the head of the association. TIM investors are due to meet on April 23 to vote on the renewal of the board, with current CEO Pietro Labriola on a hunt for a second mandate as part of the slate of candidates put forward by the outgoing board.

Telecom Italia's (TIM) association of small investors, Asati, said on Monday it would file a slate of candidates for the renewal of the board of directors of the former phone monopoly. UPDATE 1-Italy economy minister says up to the market to decide on Telecom Italia

Italian Economy Minister Giancarlo Giorgetti said on Wednesday it is now up to the market and not the government to decide on the future of former phone monopoly Telecom Italia (TIM). "We have done what the state was supposed to do, now the market will evaluate whether to venture in other directions", Giorgetti told reporters in parliament. TIM is planning to sell its landline grid to KKR in a 22-billion-euro ($23.9 billion) deal aimed at cutting debt, but questions over the plan resurfaced this month as shares nosedived after a financial targets presentation.
